Reported by kpopstarz.com, K-Pop girlband, KARA once showed on their strengths in Japan by making a sales record that had never existed.
KARA's first Japanese album, Mister, which was released in August 2010 has sold more than 2 million copies even though contain only one song. This sales record makes RIAJ gives ' Mister' certificates with double platinum because they record ringtone sales that reached 500 thousand copies.
KARA's Mister is in addition to being the first song that won the sale of 2 million copies as a Korean artist who debuted in Japan, also managed to create a popular dance of the buttocks (butt dance) in there.
Surprisingly, KARA's strength as most successful K-pop girlband in the Japanese not stop there yet. With five singles were released in Japan, adding to the sales to 250 thousand in February. The whole KARA's Japanese song managed to sell a total of 4.95 million. The record is only approached by two other Korean artists, the BoA with 3.65 million and 2.7 million by Girls Generation. Looks like it took long enough to beat the record of KARA.
KARA will release the 6th Japanese single, Speed Up / Girls Power on Wednesday (21/3) and will begin their first tour of Japan in Yokohama on April 14 and continued with in Nagoya, Fukuoka, Osaka, and Tokyo.
